Steadily growing in popularity for years with women in Seattle, eyelid surgery is becoming more attractive to men, too. In fact, the procedure is second only to liposuction in popularity with men as they discover its power to brighten their eyes and refresh their appearance.

Whether you're a man or a woman, if you take good care of yourself and have a healthy self-image, eyelid surgery in Seattle with Dr. Wandra Miles may be just what you need for a rejuvenating boost to your looks. Why not request an appointment to find out? You can meet with Dr. Miles in downtown Seattle in the Cabrini Medical Tower or in southern Alaska.

Dr. Miles feels that the skin around the eyes deserves gentle, careful treatment. "With eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, less is more," she says. For your upper lids, she'll make tiny incisions along the fold of the lid and remove excess skin. She'll take just enough to open up your eyes without creating an unnatural look. To treat your lower lids, she will make incisions inside the lid or along the lash line so she can remove fatty bulges and lift lids back into a more youthful position.

Eyelid Surgery

Many People Can Benefit

For some people, droopy, baggy eyelids run in the family. These men and women often seek treatment at a fairly young age. For the rest of us, the delicate skin around our eyes loses its youthful qualities over time. As the years pass, upper lids sag lower and lower, even obscuring vision for some people. Lower lids lose their elasticity and allow fat bulges and dark shadows to become more prominent. If these effects are what you notice about your looks, others may be noticing too. Your friends may often ask if you're feeling tired or even sad.

Eyelid surgery can bring back an energetic, vibrant appearance. Many of Dr. Miles' patients combine a facelift or a brow lift with eyelid surgery for a more complete facial makeover. BOTOX® Cosmetic can help keep crow's feet and frown lines from returning as well.

Dr. Miles enjoys seeing her patients' satisfaction with their revitalized looks. She knows that when you feel youthful and alive you're ready to take on anything. She looks forward to helping you get there. While you're here, you can also ask Dr. Miles about body procedures, like a tummy tuck.

After Your Blepharoplasty

Recovery and the New You

After eyelid surgery you'll need to take a few days away from normal activities. Though you shouldn't suffer much pain, you can expect your eyes to feel scratchy and somewhat sore for a week or so. You will notice some redness, swelling and bruising which will be at their worst around three days after surgery. After a week and a half to two weeks you will be able to start wearing makeup and resuming normal activities.

For many people, eyelid surgery creates a big impact with a small investment in risk and recovery. If you're like most of Dr. Miles' patients, after surgery your youthful bright eyes will transmit good health, high energy and a positive outlook on life.

Men and women in Bellevue, Olympia, Tacoma and Alaska choose blepharoplasty with Dr. Miles. Find out more about it you when you request a consultation online. To arrange an appointment by phone, give us a call at 206-215-6221.

Dr. Miles Answers Your Questions

Isn't eyelid surgery risky?
Generally speaking, eyelid surgery is very safe. You may be at higher risk for complications if your eyes are overly dry or your lower lids are extremely baggy, for instance. During your consultation, Dr. Miles will evaluate your eyes and discuss all possible risks with you.

What will my scars look like?
Any incisions Dr. Miles makes on surface skin will be hidden either in the crease of your upper lid or along the lash line of your lower lid. After they heal, your scars should not be visible to others.

Should I worry about looking too wide awake after surgery?
Dr. Miles takes a conservative approach to eyelid surgery to minimize risks and to ensure her patients look youthful, alert and natural.
